I am new to Pilates, where do I start?
To give you the best possible Pilates experience, we highly recommend that clients who are new to Pilates or to our studio start with a 30 minute Initial Assessment. Our Teacher will ask you a few questions and do some specific tests to see if Reformer Pilates will be suitable for your or not. Either way, you will be given a recommendation on what would be best for you going forward.
How early should I arrive for class?
We recommend you arrive at least 10 minutes before class. All group classes start promptly, so for the safety and enjoyment of all participants please be at class on time – the warm-up is an important aspect of each class and your spot may be given away if you are more than 5 minutes late.
How do I book a class?
The first step is to create an Integrated Body Arts account through our booking system Mind Body Online, either on your smart phone, or the Mind Body or Integrated Body Arts website. Click here to find out more.
What if a class is full?
If a class is full, you can waitlist for it. Waitlist spots nearly always come through so only waitlist if you are certain you can attend the class. Once you have been allocated a spot via email you are confirmed for the class, so please check your email regularly. Once you are added to the class our normal 8 hour cancellation policy applies.
How do I cancel a booking?
If you can no longer make it to your session or class, please cancel your booking online.
If you late cancel or no-show and are on a session/class pass you will lose a credit.
How often do I need to attend classes/sessions?
Depending on your goals, exercise habits and other activities, we recommend at least 1 to 2 classes/sessions a week. Even attending 1 class/session a week you would feel the benefit of doing a class/session with us. We are also more than happy to sit with you to discuss the best and most sustainable options for you.
Do I need to fill out any forms?
You will be required to fill out a New Client Form prior to your first visit. Feel free to download it and bring it in with you. Please have a glance over if you do have a known condition or symptoms as you may require medical clearance before participating in some classes.
I have/had a past injury, niggles, aches and pains
Please always let the Teacher know at the beginning of class if there are any issues, even if they know about your injury, if it's not feeling good that day. Let the Teacher know if you have a past injury, have had surgery or if there is an area or exercise you need to avoid. They will make sure to give you alternatives during the class. If you have had an acute injury or have had surgery we recommend booking an Initial Assessment and possibly a Private Sessions for your first visit.
What if I’m pregnant?
It is not suitable to start Pilates for the first time during pregnancy, however if you are a client you may continue your sessions after consulting your Teacher. Please note that depending on your condition or which trimester you are in, you may be asked to continue with private sessions (as a group may no longer be the best environment for you).
What is the studio etiquette?
What do I need to bring?
Props and mats are supplied for all classes.
What should I wear?
Wear something you feel comfortable to work out in such as stretchy fitted clothing. Please do not wear any clothes with zippers & remove any sharp jewellery as they can damage the Pilates apparatus.

What's the maximum number of attendees per class?
We have a maximum number of 12 people in our group classes, to ensure that the Teacher can monitor each attendee throughout the class to achieve maximum results!
What if I'm running late?
The warm-up is an important aspect of each class and your spot may be given away if you are more than 5 minutes late.
What if my class is cancelled?
In the rare event that a class needs to be cancelled, you will be notified as soon as we are aware. Our group classes need a minimum of 2 people to proceed. In the event that less than 2 people are booked, the class will be cancelled 2 hours prior to start time and your class credit will be automatically refunded back to your account.
How long after having a baby can I start joining classes/sessions?
Once your doctor allows you to begin exercising again, you can join a class/session. This is usually 6 weeks post-natal.
What fitness level do I need to be to attend a class?
Our classes are designed to challenge anyone from the fittest to those who are absolute beginners. The Teacher can progress or regress the exercises to suit your needs. Regardless of your fitness level, rest assured you will be well looked after.
Do I need to book?
Yes, you do need to book into our classes. To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you book well in advance as places are limited. Our Group Reformer (1:5) and group classes need a minimum of 2 people to proceed. In the event that less than 2 people are booked, the class will be cancelled 2 hours prior to start time and your class credit will be automatically refunded back to your account.
